Schedule a Chemistry Session
Before we begin any coaching engagement, we meet — just the two of us, no agenda, no obligation. A chemistry session is a 30-minute virtual conversation designed to answer one simple question: Is this the right fit?
Partnering with senior leaders to navigate change, build high-performing teams, and lead with clarity, confidence, and purpose.
"The most powerful leaders I've met weren't the loudest in the room — they were the ones who knew themselves well enough to be still, listen, and then act with intention."
I'm Barbara Moulton — an International Coaching Federation (ICF)-credentialed executive coach and the Founder & CEO of Brighter Spot. I spent 25 years as a senior leader at two of the nation's largest public transit systems, rising to Vice President of Customer Experience & Strategic Initiatives at WMATA.
The work I'm most proud of isn't the budgets I managed. It's the people. The director who stopped shrinking in the room. The VP who rebuilt trust with her team. The executive who found the courage to reimagine what was possible.
I completed Georgetown University's Executive Leadership Coaching certification and hold the ICF Associate Certified Coach (ACC) credential — and I bring every year of lived experience into every coaching relationship.
Before we begin any coaching engagement, we meet — just the two of us, no agenda, no obligation. A chemistry session is a 30-minute virtual conversation designed to answer one simple question: Is this the right fit?
One-on-one coaching for senior and mid-level leaders navigating high-stakes roles, managing complexity, or preparing for what's next. We create space for the thinking the day-to-day rarely allows.
Stepping into a new role — or stepping back from one? I help leaders navigate promotions, pivots, and next chapters with clarity and confidence.
Leading through transformation or culture shifts? I bring 25+ years of firsthand experience navigating large-scale change from inside the room where decisions get made.
How you show up, tell your story, and influence without authority — learnable, refinable skills we develop with intention and real practice.
Whether you're building a team, rebuilding one, or trying to unlock one that's stuck — coaching at the team level creates lasting, measurable change.
My clients come from the public sector, nonprofits, and government. What they share isn't a title — it's a readiness to lead more intentionally, powerfully, and authentically.
"Your Brighter Spot isn't somewhere out there waiting for you to find it. It's already inside you — coaching is just the light that helps you see it."
— Barbara D. Moulton, MS, ACC
Every coaching relationship begins with me listening — deeply, fully, without an agenda. Your story, your language, your wisdom.
The right question at the right moment changes everything. I ask questions that help you find your own answers — which is far more lasting.
I believe you already have what you need. My role is to hold the space — with warmth, honesty, and accountability — while you access it.
Working with Barbara was the catalyst I didn't know I needed. She asked the question that changed everything — and then held the space while I found the answer myself.
Barbara brings something I've rarely encountered — the credibility of someone who's been in the room making hard calls, combined with the skill of a genuinely gifted coach.
I came to Barbara feeling stuck. What I left with wasn't a plan — it was clarity about who I am as a leader. The plan followed naturally. She helps you see yourself accurately.
The sessions with Barbara were unlike any professional development I'd experienced. She listens in a way that makes you hear yourself differently. My team noticed the shift before I did.
Every coaching relationship begins with a conversation. Reach out and let's explore what's possible — no obligation, just an honest human conversation about where you are and where you want to go.
